About Reflective

Reflective printing uses glass-bead or prismatic heat-transfer material that reflects light back to its source — like a road sign or a cyclist's vest. In daylight the print looks like a subtle silver or colored design; at night, when hit by headlights or flash, it glows bright white or the chosen color.

At SublimApparel, we work with both standard reflective heat-transfer film and 3M Scotchlite reflective material for certified high-visibility applications. Standard reflective is suitable for fashion and athletic apparel; 3M Scotchlite is required for industrial safety and workwear.

Reflective print is most popular in cycling, running, workwear, motorcyclist apparel, and any application where visibility is safety-critical.

How Reflective Works

  1. 1

    Material selection

Choose standard reflective (fashion/athletic) or 3M Scotchlite (certified safety). Select color — silver is most common.

  2. 2

    Cut to shape

Reflective material is cut to design shape using plotter cutter or digital cutting system.

  3. 3

    Heat-press application

Cut reflective is positioned on the garment and heat-pressed at 160°C for 15 seconds.

  4. 4

    Peel and inspect

Carrier film is peeled (hot or cold), leaving reflective material bonded to the fabric.

  5. 5

    QC & pack

Each piece is tested for reflectivity and adhesion before packing.
