Suede is leather (or faux leather) with a napped surface, created by buffing the underside of the hide or by weaving/knitting a fabric with a brushed surface. Genuine suede is made from the underside of split leather — soft, drapey, and luxurious, but expensive and delicate. Faux suede (microsuede) is made from polyester or poly-blend microfiber, brushed to create a similar soft surface — much more durable, machine washable, and sublimation-printable.

What is suede (faux and genuine)?
Suede is leather (or faux leather) with a napped surface, created by buffing the underside of the hide or by weaving/knitting a fabric with a brushed surface. Genuine suede is made from the underside of split leather — soft, drapey, and luxurious, but expensive and delicate. Faux suede (microsuede) is made from polyester or poly-blend microfiber, brushed to create a similar soft surface — much more durable, machine washable, and sublimation-printable.

What's the difference between suede and nubuck?
Both are napped leathers, but the nap direction is different. Suede is buffed on the underside (flesh side) of the split. Nubuck is buffed on the outside (grain side) of the full grain, giving a finer, more velvety surface.

Yes — for premium programs. Cow, goat, and pig suede all available. 60-day lead time, 50+ sq ft MOQ per color.
